Juventus and Napoli will apparently battle it out for Hoffenheim's Vedad Ibisevic as they look to reinforce their attacks ahead of next season.
Both clubs have made signing a striker a priority this summer although their respective ambitions are quite different.
Juventus are in talks with Wolfsburg about Ibisevic's Bosnia international team-mate Edin Dzeko.
However, reports in Italy claim the Bianconeri will shift their attention to Ibisevic if their efforts to sign Dzeko fail.
Napoli have also been looking for a centre-forward capable of scoring between 15 and 20 goals a season.
They have been linked with Maxi Lopez, Fred and David Trezeguet this summer, but a striker has yet to arrive at the San Paolo and the fans are getting anxious.
Mediaset understands Napoli have already made an inquiry about Ibisevic, offering Hoffenheim Argentine striker German Denis in exchange plus a lump sum.
Ibisevic has scored 35 goals and made another 23 in two and a half years in Germany. He is reportedly being valued at between 10m and 15m.
The 27-year-old has a contract until 2013 and was linked with Fiorentina earlier this summer amid speculation that Alberto Gilardino might leave.
